accessing funded counselling in Victoria

Navigating funding systems can feel overwhelming—especially when you're already carrying the weight of what brought you here. These structures exist to reduce financial barriers to mental health support, but the reality is they often come with their own complexity, gatekeeping, and hoops to jump through.

As someone with lived experience of workplace psychological injury, burnout, neurodivergent burnout, relationship abuse, and discrimination as a queer person, I understand what it's like to need support while simultaneously worrying that the person offering it, might actually continue the harm.

That understanding shapes how I work—with patience, without judgement, and with deep respect for what it's taken to get here.

If you're accessing support through WorkCover, TAC, NDIS or Victims of Crime Financial Assistance and you're looking for a therapist who is queer-affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, and trauma-informed, we can talk through what's possible in a free intro call.

You deserve accessible, affirming care. Let's see what we can make possible together.

ndis funding

If you're an NDIS participant with funding for therapeutic supports, you can access counselling and social work through your plan. This might be under Capacity Building (Improved Daily Living) or under Core Supports, depending on how your plan is structured.

NDIS-funded counselling can support you to work through trauma, manage mental health challenges, navigate transitions, build coping strategies, or explore questions of identity and belonging. Whether you're neurodivergent, living with chronic illness or disability, or navigating the intersection of multiple experiences, therapy can be a space to be seen and understood on your terms.

The NDIS has its own language, systems, and expectations—and they're not always designed with actual disabled people in mind. We can navigate these together, whether that's understanding your plan, working with your support coordinator, or providing reports when needed.

If you’re a participant, you can schedule a no-cost intro call or email us.

transport accident commission (tac)

If you've been injured in a transport accident in Victoria, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) can fund counselling and mental health support as part of your recovery. This includes psychological injuries—because trauma doesn't only live in the body, even when the accident does.

TAC-funded counselling can support you to process the emotional and psychological impacts of your accident, whether that's anxiety, PTSD, grief, adjustment difficulties, or something harder to name. Approved sessions are covered, reducing or removing out-of-pocket costs so you can focus on your healing rather than financial stress.

TAC has its own processes and timelines, which can feel overwhelming when you're already navigating so much. We can move through these systems together, with care.

Worksafe counselling and mental health support (Victoria)

If you've been affected by a workplace injury—whether physical or psychological—you may be eligible for WorkCover-funded counselling and social work support as part of your recovery journey.

WorkCover counselling can include ongoing therapy sessions to support your mental health, as well as reports for your claim. This means reduced or no out-of-pocket costs for approved sessions, so you can focus on healing rather than navigating financial barriers.

WorkCover operates within particular frameworks and timelines, which can feel overwhelming when you're already carrying so much. We can navigate these systems together, so you don't have to figure it out alone.

Please note, I am registered in Victoria only.

There may be a gap fee when using WorkSafe funding models due to lower rates of reimbursement from WorkSafe. This allows us to cover our operating costs. Reach out to talk more about this!

Victorian vocat/fas funding

If you've experienced a violent crime in Victoria, you may be eligible for counselling support through the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance scheme. This funding recognises that the impacts of crime don't end when the event does—and that healing often requires ongoing, trauma-informed care.

Financial assistance can cover counselling and social work support to help you process what you've experienced, at a pace that feels safe for you. You don't need to have reported the crime to police to be eligible, and support is available whether the crime happened recently or years ago.

Navigating these systems while carrying trauma can feel like a lot. We can work through the process together, so you're not left figuring it out on your own.
